Anonymous asked: How can I make the most of internships?

Make meaningful relationships (see below)! Look for opportunities to learn everywhere — they’re not always obvious. And do what you’re asked without complaining: yes, some of the tasks are stupid and tedious and you didn’t go to grad school to make coffee, but earning the trust of the people you’re working for by doing the small things will often lead to you getting to do bigger better things.

And that said: if you are only getting to do crap things in your internship, by all means quit! There’s no point in hanging around if you’re not learning anything.
