A Scarcity of Love (Peter Owen Modern Classics): Amazon.co.uk: Anna Kavan: Books
Scene: I am reading this book on the Victoria Line, due south.
So, says the man sitting next to me, do you think that the title is accurate?
Um, yes, I say, with care. It describes the book well.
No, says the man. I mean, in the world. Do you think that the WORLD has a scarcity of love?
Ah, I say. Hm.
I do, says the man. I think that there is a scarcity of love, and most love that does exist is based on DECEIT.
I think this is my stop, I say.
