(the book I wrote)

A few years ago a man invited me to join him at his private members’ club (I know) for a drink.
I find it helpful, he said, quite apropos of nothing, to masturbate when I have to make an important decision.
Really, I said.
Yes, he said. At the moment of orgasm, I have the most incredible clarity of thought and I know what to do. Unlike most people, who just have a wank to…have a wank.
Anyway, that’s what Decision Points makes me think of.
danforth:

My first reaction was outrage. Someone had dared attack America. They were going to pay. Then I looked at the faces of the children in front of me. I thought about the contrast between the brutality of the attackers and the innocence of those children. Millions like them would soon be counting on me to protect them. I was determined not to let them down.
